All of the storm water on our site, including runoff from our non-reflective white roof and blacktop, is handled by two biofilters on our site. These biofilters are rain gardens designed to retain a large amount of water. It is often possible to see them totally flooded after a heavy rain, then almost empty a few hours later. In between, the deep-rooted plants have taken the water and moved it into the ground instead of the city sewer.
